Sara Ramsay is hands down my first choice to vocal coach our artists. We have sent numerous artists to her for vocal training. Sara is great at teaching the building blocks that any singer needs for a successful career, both in terms of getting the most out of their voice, but also protecting their voice. I would recommend Sara for vocal coaching without hesitation.

Sara is an incredible teacher. Exploring the technical elements of singing with her has been a fun and informative journey. The warm, gentle and yet professional environment she has established for her lessons is a reliable weekly joy in my life. I owe her a lot of my career as a singer.  I would recommend her to anyone, ESPECIALLY, if you are self-conscious or sensitive about your voice.

Here at THE STUDIO, we teach professional singers who are signed to record labels, development deals, and both touring and recording musicians. We work with record labels, producers, and developing artists. We also teach teenagers who want to be able to sing a solo in their school choir or have big dreams of “becoming a star”, adults who just want to sing better, and everyone in between.

Voice training is the biggest part of what we do here at THE STUDIO, and we specialize in contemporary voice coaching. Rock ‘n Roll? Check. Pop music? Check. Country? Check. Musical Theatre? Check. Coaching singers involves technical voice training, including vocal hygiene and voice care; body language and performance coaching; working through the blocks that hold you back; storytelling through music; studio preparation; and can even involve feedback on writing and career development where appropriate. We’ve been in the business for a Lot. Of. Years. And we want our expertise to help you succeed in every way possible.

Typical piano lessons at most studios involve working into the Royal Conservatory syllabus. We think piano lessons should be way more fun than that. Sure, we teach the basics, but it’s all about what you want to play in the end.

Who are your guitar heroes? What are your reasons for wanting to play guitar? Do you want to play the campfire singalong, or be the next Jimi Hendrix? Either way, we’ve got your back.

Music theory can be intimidating, and it can be dry. We’ll start at your level…and progress logically from there. And it’ll actually be fun, because you’ll see how FUNctional theory makes music go round.

Ear training allows you to put on paper what you hear in your head, identify what you hear, and sing what you see. It’s super duper awesome, and will make you a star at parties. Or with other musicians.

When I have a client that seems to be struggling a bit with their singing I send them to Sara for a little help. She is so amazing with them, and in a short while you see a vast improvement in their control and power. The thing I like best about Sara is she doesn’t try to change how they sing, she works with the singer’s style and helps them discover where their vocal control comes from. Every client I’ve sent her loves her friendly approach and quick results. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone.  Thank you Sara!

Sara Ramsay changed everything I knew about being a singer.

Some of us in rock’n’roll can develop bad habits. But all of the usual stereotypes aside, it was my improper vocal technique that really set me back & limited my ability as a singer. It was a series of sessions with Sara that brought all of this to light for me. Through working with Sara, I was able to gain control of my voice in a comfortable place.

I can’t thank Sara enough for all she did for me in such a short time & I look forward to working with her again.

THE STUDIO’s philosophy is pretty simple. The arts are about the joy of expressing what’s inside, the love of bringing your innermost feelings…out. As teachers, it’s our job to help you find a way to release what’s inside you, and help you learn the mechanics of the art form that lets you let it all out. Whether your goal is to play a little better, be the next Big Star, or just access your creative side more wholly, we can help you learn the steps from here to there.
